PLACE LAB provides design consultancy services in architecture, urban design and masterplanning.
Our approach is to create places that people love, with buildings that are classical and timeless.
Project sectors include mixed-use, retail, residential (apartments, villas and bespoke residences), hospitality, leisure and workplace.
The practice was founded in 2012 by John Smylie RIBA MICTP. John is a member of the peak international INTBAU College of Traditional Practitioners (ICTP) and acts as Northern Ireland Advisor to the Prince’s Foundation for Building Community. John’s awards include an international Charter Award (Congress for the New Urbanism), RICS Award for Best Regeneration Project in Northern Ireland and RTPI Award for Best Regeneration Project in the UK.
